My laptop has a 40 gig hard drive, and 8 gig free, and yet it only had only 18 gig in use. Something was very wrong.

System Restore, which I've had TURNED OFF FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW. *sigh* So I reenabled it, and moved the slider so that it could use at most 200 mb, and now I have 22.5 gig available

On the plus side, it means that I can create a 10 gig VMWare partition with a ... well, first of all, it means I can create a 10 gig VMWare partition, but I can do it with a clear conscience and not delete anything else. :) And I bet my next defrag goes a lot faster, too.
